Here are some links to some sites and tools that I have found useful, informative, or just plain cool. It is not exhaustive, and I will try to update it from time to time.

7Zip: 7Zip is an open source archiving and file-compression utility. It can open and create a variety of archives, including the excellent *.7z format.

Allegro: Allegro is an open-source, cross-platform C library for game programming. Primarily intended for 2D sprite-based games, it's very lightweight and pretty easy to use.

Allegro.cc: Allegro.cc is a community site for the Allegro game programming library. It hosts or links to many games and tools developed with or for the Allegro library.

Blender: Blender is an open-source 3D modeling program. It is quite powerful, and plugins or extensions can be coded in Python. There are import/export plugins for a variety of 3D model formats.

Boost: Boost is a collection of portable, open-source C++ libraries, useful across a wide range of applications. Several Boost libraries have been recommended for inclusion in future standards of C++.

CMake: CMake is an open-source, cross-platform build management system. It is compatible with several make utilities and IDEs.

Code::Blocks: Code::Blocks is an open-source, cross-platform C/C++ IDE.

Cygwin: Cygwin is an open-source Linux emulation system for Windows. There are quite a few prebuilt packages available for it, and more can be built from source just as on Linux systems.

GIMP: The GIMP, or GNU Image Manipulation Program, is a powerful open-source graphics program. All images on this site were edited with the GIMP.

MinGW: MinGW is, among other things, a port of the GCC compiler toolset to the Windows platform.

OGRE: OGRE is an open-source, cross-platform 3D graphics library, written in C++.

Panda3D: Panda3D is an open-source, cross-platform 3D game engine, scriptable in Python.

PyGame: PyGame is an open-source, cross platform Python game programming library, primarily used for 2D sprite-based games.

Python: Python is an open-source, cross-platform programming language. It has a quite extensive standard library, and there many extensions are available for it.

Slackware: Slackware is one of the oldest Linux distributions, with a focus on stability.

SourceForge: SourceForge is a site dedicated to open-source software. It is home to more than 200,000 projects, in addition to hosting this site.

Subversion: Subversion is an open-source version control system.
